The fight continues to save university staff pensions from reforms that could cost staff up to £10,000 a year in retirement. No viable agreement has been reached with the employers, and the strike will likely continue into the Easter term. After an unprecedented fourteen days of strike action, staff already face up to fourteen days of docked pay. Those paying off mortgages or rent have struggled to keep up their payments. Postdoctoral fellows and casual staff, paid per hour lectured, are even more severely affected.

At this crucial moment, we therefore ask members and supporters to consider donating to our cause.

The UCU Cambridge Hardship Fund will support the worst-affected. You can make the donation by direct transfer to:

UCU Cambridge – Hardship Fund
Account number: 20393807
Sort Code: 60-83-01

Alternatively you can donate to the National UCU Fighting Fund.

The two funds will work together. Our fund will provide top up payments to Cambridge staff with needs that the national fund cannot meet. We thank you warmly for whatever support you are able to give.
